I also have a MacBook Air 11\" Mid 2012 (MBA11) running OS X 10.11.6 and I need to play the video on this computer too. When I double-click on the video, I get a message saying, \"Application Error This application requires Shockwave Player 11, which can not be found. Click OK to download it.\" When I click on OK, Safari opens and I downloaded the file Shockwave_Installer_Full_64bit.dmg. This disk image has a Shockwave installer but it installs version 12.24.r194 of the plugin. Unfortunately, when I double-click on the video I still get the same error message about needing Shockwave Player 11.
In February 2019, Adobe announced that Adobe Shockwave, including the Shockwave Player, would be discontinued in April 2019. The final update for Adobe Shockwave Player was released on March 15, 2019. Shockwave Player is no longer available for download (as of October 8, 2019), and it cannot be used anymore since web browsers have blocked the Shockwave Player plug-in upon its discontinuation.
I downloaded Adobe Shockwave Player, but when trying to launch a downloaded Shockwave game, it opens a DOS dialog box as a text file instead. I have just purchased a new iMac from being a lifelong Windows user. What am I doing wrong Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
It is all games... The website is www.shockwave.com and I am downloading hidden object games. When my download is complete, it has the .exe extension but says the file type is \"document\". I have tried opening with Quick Player also with no success. Thanks so much!!
Yes, I read their FAQ. As I mentioned originally, I installed both of those players. I also rebooted the computer, deleted the original downloads, and downloaded again. No luck. The shockwave and flash players were for mac, installed fine, so I don't know what the problem is.
Oh dear, I suspected that .exe files are strictly windows-based, but it helps having confirmation. Forgive me, but I'm not an IT person, so this may sound like a stupid question. When a game is downloaded from a website, how does it know to download in PC or Mac format Any file I've ever downloaded, if it was supported on both platforms, there would be the version to choose from. Unless Shockwave/Flash determines that Maybe I should be asking Shockwave that question I do really appreciate the time & help. Mac is amazing and wish I would have converted sooner! Many thanks.
They support the Mac so you may need to look around and ensure you are getting a mac version to download. Most websites can query the OS to see what it is, but you may need to get involved by looking for the right one. What web browser do you use maybe it is messing things up, try safari and see what happens.
I just recently bought a Mac after being a Windows user for years. I also use Shockwave and I found out that even though you can play games on their website, you cannot download the games onto Macs. They responded to an email that I sent them asking if there are games that can be downloaded onto Macs or if the download games are only for Windows computer. Shockwave support stated that even though you can play the games on the website with a Mac, you cannot download them to a Mac and play them. I have also asked them in an email why there are no available downloads for Macs, but I never received an answer to that question. My solution was to keep my old Windows laptop and just use it to download the games that I want to play. As it was also pointed out by X423424X you could always use Bootcamp to download and play Windows games. Hope this helps.

However, the other key reason why Adobe ended support for Flash may have been because of the abundance of fake Flash Player downloads that had become one of the most common ways for harmful code to arrive on Macs.

Adobe Flash Player 18.104.22.168, released for Mac and Windows, is now available for download. Adobe has also released Adobe Flash Player 22.214.171.1246 for Linux. If you can't download Shockwave Player, then you may have an old version of the player installed already. This could prevent you from downloading a newer version. If this is the case, uninstall the older player.Mac Users
If you check this r/neopets Reddit post on the subject, what happened was that Neopets changed all their links to \"https\", but the code calls back to \"http\" links. You can try downloading Ruffle on Chrome or Firefox and this Tampermonkey script to fix the issue and send scores, but tbh the Ruffle+Tampermonkey script is pretty iffy on a lot of games, I dunno how useful it is.Juvian, the guy on Reddit, also made a Github that explains other fixes you can use, along with ways to play on Shockwave and 3DVIA, but those are a bit more of a pain in the ass to set up. This is necessary to fix some of the games, like Assignment 53.TNT basically operates the site under the assumption that most of us will just find workarounds to play Flash games even after the end of life, which makes sense considering their HTML games fucking suck. Ice Cream Machine in the non-Flash version has super low framerate compared to Flash.
Adobe makes available plug-ins, such as Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Integrated Runtime, to play SWF files in web browsers. Many laboratories around the world are conduct shockwave blast injury tests on rodents to simulate blast traumatic brain injury (TBI). Each of these laboratories has different techniques for creating the shockwave blasts as well as positioning the rats. There is no device to determine whether or not the rodent animal models actually experiences a true blast wave in a given set up. This device was developed as a method for verifying rodents undergoing true shockwave blasts through biometrics, instrumentation and the basic biomechanical responses a rodent experiences during such tests. Since the goal of shockwave blast testing is to replicate the live-fire conditions, it is important to have loads of biomechanical authenticity. 153554b96e
