At the beginning of the fourth season, Ace became an official member of the Justice League, though he remained loosely affiliated with Superman’s Legion of Superheroes, and he was also promoted to the new rank of Commander.
See what Ace Allen thinks about the new Justice League (Superman's second group of superheroes) here and Ace is excited to join the team. To make his decision a little easier, the Legion of Super Heroes, which is where Ace is currently a member, performs a physical training session for Ace. There is a new high level of magnetic field inside the Wonder Tower that Superman cannot detect. It seems the Earth has been producing more and more magnetic fields and is causing some problems!
Ace is always frustrated by his friends' training and wants to be in a team that focuses on civilian-oriented superheroics. Unfortunately, the Super Friends have no openings at the moment. But Ace is persistent in the end. Once Ace is given the allegiance of the Legion of Super Heroes (whom he was kept out of earlier), he suddenly gets his chance to join!
Ace gets a chance to give a speech to the team to encourage them to not give up when he sees Mr. Freeze causing trouble from a local supermarket. Superman suggests to Ace that they should concentrate on the criminals but Ace insists that it is their solely responsibility as “super heroes” to protect the Earth, though the Legion of Super Heroes is no longer part of Superman’s superhero team.
Ace is first called upon to demonstrate his powers against Mr. Freeze and his Monster Toxin. Mr. Freeze produces a kind of freeze-ray that is stronger than any meteorite or weapon Superman has at his disposal. Ace focuses and uses the technopathy in his body to create a powerful wave of wind, blowing Mr. Freeze back and rendering his explosive toxin harmless. However, in the flash of his powers he is caught by the invisible force field and is tossed against the wall and to the floor, and is inadvertently sucker punched by his former enemy. d2c66b5586
