Though we are a long way off from the release of Ultra Blade, we can still be excited for it, especially since Blast Waves is looking to be a tactical roguelike slash fighting game for iOS and Android, as well as a new collaboration with Kyle Barret on Undecember. Based on the early concept art, the game looks promising as a blast of rogue-like gameplay, but with a tactical, hack and slash edge to it, adding a pinch of strategy to the mix. With its release now confirmed for this summer, we can take a look at the concept art of Blast Waves, which includes the artwork that inspired Ultra Blade and Undecember, as well as the environments, enemies, and abilities of Blast Waves. Looking at the concept art for Blast Waves, one can see that it appears to be an action game set in a sci-fi world in a post-apocalyptic setting, possibly on an Earth-like planet. There are also various weapons at the disposal of players, from pistols and rifles to blasters, and a small collection of armor styles.
Players are given the chance to either fight against the armies of Toman and Helmar, or the three remaining armies of the kingdom, each faction representing a specific branch of military forces. Enemies in this game have the chance to flee whenever the player attacks them, which makes this game a simple hack-and-slash affair. After a player has defeated multiple enemies, they will face one of the two final bosses, or the final three.
